Here is my second character to the Thorns world. I just had to draw her after i worked on Sesamona. I am proud of this picture, yes i am. I worked kind of on textures.

Backstory:
A young slave couple Prudence and Taven Ryder wanted to make a better life for their new family. Wanting to join the Freedom Fighters they arranged passage on an old fishing boat called Pretty Odetta. On board Prudence was pregnant with a girl child. Half way through the voyage the child was born but at the cost of the mother’s life. Her father, a man who lived only for his wife was distraught but was determined for his newborn babe to have a good life. He decided to name her after the fishing boat that brought them to freedom.
Taven was a strong young man and worked as a blacksmith in Old Rose and never took another wife. Odetta grew up in a good home, raised by her father. Taven let Odetta run loose around town, growing up with little female influence. Being raised the way she was she grew up as one of the boys, picking fights, rolling around in the dirt, and running around the harbor. Around nine Odetta decided to change her name to Letta because Odetta was a prissy name and she didn’t like prissy things. Soon she began to work with the freedom fighters.
At the moment Letta is simply another blacksmith apprentice with the hidden agenda of a finder of material for the freedom fighters. She also helps make armor and weapons for the freedom fighters. Letta is best at making shields, locks, and small pieces of armor that are good hidden behind clothes.
Letta is illiterate for the most part; her father couldn’t write and couldn’t read so she was never taught. Letta never had time nor wanted to learn book smarts. She thinks it’s impractical and doesn’t apply to her life style.

Personality:
Letta is a free spirit and has a bit of a wild nature. She enjoys showing who wears the pants in her groups of friends. She mostly hangs out with a few human and wick friends after a day of work. To her friends she is very protective and does not stand for people making fun of her friends especially if the jokes are making fun of her female friends. A strong feminist she believes girls can do anything boys can do and she likes to prove it by wrestling in the dirt or running in a race. Letta is confident in a fight and it hurts her pride to loose, but she refuses to cry. Letta walks with a proud strut, a cool gaze, and her hands are almost always in her pockets. Though cocky in her fighting she is very modest with her blacksmith skills. She really is at peace and happy when working with metals and forging tools. Letta is stubborn and does not trust people she does not know.
Letta has a very loud booming voice, and is quick to laugh at another’s failure but does in good nature. She has a hearty laugh like her father, and slaps people on the back when she’s pleased with them.
Letta would give her life to the Freedom Fighters.

Description:
Short, stocky, well muscled, and has a dark tan. Her hands are callused from working all day and are sometimes burned and blackened when she gets careless. A heart shaped face that seems to say, “What are you looking at?” Letta has dark blonde hair that’s stick straight but thicker than wool. She pulls her hair into a thick bun in the back of her head with one braid wrapped around her bangs. Deep eyelashes hide her round sharp green blue eyes. A small nose that’s slightly upturned and has been broken twice makes her look stuck up. Her mouth is soft, with the bottom lip larger than top lip that looks a bit like a pout. For somebody who dressed in men’s clothes and gets into fights; her face is very much like a snobbish girl.
Letta is very short, and it makes her look very young. The only place she has freckles is all down her back. Letta has two large moles above her right eyebrow. From spending time in the harbor and in her father’s shop she fears she will never get the smell of fish, metal, and sweat off her.

Goals:
Letta wishes to live a somewhat quiet life as a female blacksmith, in a small town where she could be accepted. Eventually she will settle down and maybe get married to a man that can keep up with her lifestyle. She cannot have her dream lifestyle without the galdor government overthrown. So Letta gives her life and all she is to the freedom fighters or her dream won’t come true.
Letta also fights for a more perfect balance between men and women’s rights in all races.
